Jay Cohen
Jay Cohen has represented individuals and families who have been victimized by the negligence of others for many years. He has tried to verdict numerous jury trials. His experience and dedication has earned him, among other accolades, membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates where he served as President of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter and is on the Board of Directors of the statewide FLABOTA Organization. He has also been recognized by his peers as one of Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, Super Lawyer and one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2008 and 2009.
He is involved in numerous Bar Association activities including having just won election to The Florida Bar Board of Governors. He was an adjunct professor of law at Nova Southeastern School of Law for many years where he taught trial practice. Jay is licensed to practice in all State Courts and Federal Courts in Florida and Texas, where he attended law school. He practiced in Texas for a couple of years before returning to South Florida where he grew up. Jay attended the University of Florida graduating cum laude in 1975. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978 and to the Florida Bar in 1980.
Jay has extensive experience representing both palintiffs and defendants in negligence cases. In addition to his many years prosecuting civil cases, he successfully defended hospitals and doctors for 15 years. He continues to be an invited lecturer to Hospitals and Physicians Groups as well as to the Plaintiff’s Trial Bar Associations.
Jeffrey L. Blostein

Jeff received his Bachelors from Florida State University in 1993 and his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 1996. He was admitted to the Florida Bar later the same year and is licensed to practice in all state courts in Florida. He is also admitted to the Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jeff is a member of the American Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association (Professionalism Committee since 2006), Palm Beach County Bar Association (Professionalism Committee, 1998-2004; Judicial Relations Committee, 2004), Defense Research Institute, and Florida Defense Lawyers Association. In 1997, he authored "Judicial Interpretations of Presuit in Florida: How to avoid the Pitfalls of Bringing or Defending a Claim for Medical Malpractice," which was published in the Florida Bar Journal (July-August 1997).
Jeff is an experienced litigator who has focused primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, insurance and civil rights litigation. He joined the Law Offices of Jay Cohen, P.A. in the spring of 2008.
