About the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society

Incorporated in 1977, the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society (FSCHS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with over 800 members across Florida and beyond. The Society is committed to educating the public about the importance of a strong, independent judiciary and preserving the history of Florida’s court system.

The Society’s activities include:

  • Publications (including Historical Review magazine): Educating the public about judicial history.
  • Oral History Programs: Capturing the experiences of key judicial figures.
  • Historical Archives: Preserving documents and records.
  • Supreme Court Tours and Exhibits: Providing educational experiences.

About Jay Cohen

Jay Cohen is a distinguished Florida plaintiffs’ personal injury and medical malpractice attorney known for representing individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic losses due to negligence. In addition to his recent appointment as trustee of the FSCHS, he has achieved the following:
