Michelle Zeiger is an experienced litigator and has joined Cohen & Blostein as a partner in the complex commercial litigation division, focusing primarily on the defense of allegations of medical malpractice, sexual abuse, personal injury, premises liability, wrongful death, and negligent security. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Emory University Goizueta Business School in 2000 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2003. She was admitted to the Florida Bar the same year and is also admitted to the federal bars for the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
Michelle is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, Broward County Bar Association, Broward County Women Lawyers Association, Emerge Broward, Young Leaders Society, B’nai B’rith Justice Unit, and Florida Defense Lawyers Association. Michelle has been named a “Top Lawyer – Insurance Litigation – Defense” by South Florida Legal Guide (2019), “Top Up and Comer” by South Florida Legal Guide (2016 – 2022), and a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers (2010).
Prior to joining Cohen & Blostein, Michelle was a partner at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida office of a national litigation firm representing clients in general liability, healthcare, and transportation matters. She launched her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney at the Office of the State Attorney, 17th Judicial Circuit, Broward County, Florida, and prosecuted over 60 jury trials to verdict, including first-degree felonies and capital offenses.
