We are delighted to welcome our new summer law clerk, Raquel Palacio, to the team! Raquel is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at Vanderbilt Law School, where she is an active member of several student organizations, including the Vanderbilt Law Student Ambassadors Program, Women’s Law Student Association, Christian Legal Society, and the Law and Business Society.
Raquel graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Political Science. During her time as an undergraduate, she was named to the President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List, and received the prestigious Presidential Service Award.
Raquel has gained valuable experience in research, education, writing, and public service. She worked as an assistant researcher at the University of Florida, focusing on initiatives to reduce incarceration rates among individuals with mental illness. As a substitute teacher in Broward County Public Schools, she specialized in early childhood education for children with special needs. Additionally, Raquel has contributed as a guest columnist for the Gainesville Sun, exploring the effects of COVID-19 on college admissions. Her professional journey also includes an internship with the Town of Davie, where she supported the town attorney and officials with various administrative tasks.
We are excited to have Raquel with us this summer and look forward to the enthusiasm and dedication she will bring to our office. Welcome, Raquel!
