Jay Cohen was recently named Attorney of the Year by Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS). This award is presented to attorneys who have gone above and beyond to support Legal Aid’s mission to provide services to communities with little financial wherewithal for legal recourse. Jay was recognized due to his long history with the Legal Aids Program in Broward and in particular his recent efforts to bring a $350,000 Cy Pres Award to Broward to help fund the community program.
Roughly 85% of people in need of legal assistance receive no aid due to lack of funding and resources. Legal Aid Service of Broward County provides this service to thousands of low-income residents of Broward County who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
