Rachel Constant

Rachel Levy Constant is an experienced attorney specializing in criminal defense and mental health law. She recently joined Cohen & Blostein, P.A. as an associate in the medical malpractice defense and complex civil litigation division. Prior to her current position, Rachel served as the Mental Health Court Supervisor and Assistant Public Defender at the Law Office of the Public Defender in Broward County, Florida as well as an attorney in litigation practices in Atlanta, Georgia and Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to her civil and criminal litigation experience, Rachel has created substantive continuing legal education programs for Thomson Reuters in New York and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Rachel is admitted to practice law in multiple jurisdictions. She was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 1994, New York in 2002, the state and federal courts of Arizona in 2003 and Florida in 2019.

Rachel is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and B’nai B’rith Justice Unit.

In 2022, Rachel was honored with the Hat Trick Award by the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, awarded to attorneys who earned three “not guilty” verdicts in a row. Rachel has also co-authored an article titled “How to Litigate Claims of Undisclosed Defects in Real Estate Transactions in Arizona,” published in April 2003 by NBI, Inc.

Rachel obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia, in May 1994. During her time at Emory, she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Procedure I and achieved Dean’s List honors. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the State University of New York at Binghamton, where she dual majored in History and Law & Society. Rachel also participated in The American University’s Washington Semester Program during the fall of 1990.

Originally from New Jersey, Rachel now resides in Florida and is dedicated to providing quality legal representation to the clients of Cohen & Blostein, P.A.
